Barceloneta Beach
Barceloneta Beach is located in the neighbourhood of the same name, the Barceloneta. It is an area imbued with the flavour of the sea and steeped in tradition and seafaring lore and legend. A beach of fine golden sand with a whole host of leisure facilities and restaurants (especially seafood and tapas), Barceloneta Beach can be easily reached by public transport. My advice: don’t miss the vibrant atmosphere here on summer nights.
Barceloneta Beach is a place where, if you want to have a good time, the fun does not stop! There is always something to do, no matter what the season. In winter you can go play sports or walk quietly, as there are not as many people. It is very common to see people running or playing volleyball at any time of year. There are also many restaurants to eat facing the ocean. In summer, there are hundreds of activities, shows and music that will not stop until nightfall. Near this beach is the Vila Olimpica, the Olympic port, Ciutadella Park, Playa de Sant Sebastia, the Air Port Shuttle and the Barcelona Zoo. Barceoneta Beach is just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Barcelona!
Sant Sebastià Beach
The Sant Sebastià, or Saint Sebastian, Beach is one of the oldest and largest beaches in Barcelona. The golden sands measure 1.1 km. Located at the southern tip of Barceloneta Beach, it attracts more locals than the other beaches, which are used more by tourists and foreigners. It is one of two nudist beaches in Barcelona where people come to meet friends of naturists. After a long day of sunbathing, it is a great treat to walk in the nearby Born area, which is well worth it! Sant Sebastià Beach is also home to some of the city’s foremost sports clubs. Another great attraction of this beach is its close proximity to Vela, where they have some of the most superb yacht clubs in town. Vela is also where Shakira recorded the music video for “Loca."
Bogatell Beach
Bogatell Beach was redeveloped for the Barcelona Olympic Games to accommodate the number of people and tourists to come in that year. Over 600 metres long, it quickly became one of the city’s most popular beaches. Safe and peaceful, it is easily reached by bicycle due to its cycle lane that runs parallel to the sea. Once you’ve arrived, you can play ping pong and volleyball at the purpose-built tables and courts. In addition, there are pyramids made of elastic cords where children can be entertained while parents take a cool dip in the ocean and enjoy the many cultural things offered by this beach. The beachfront bars, or “chiringuitos,” have great music and are another of the Bogatell Beach’s star attractions: an irresistible temptation both day and night.
Mar Bella Beach
Popular with young people, Mar Bella (Beautiful Sea) Beach is in Barcelona’s Sant Martí district. 500 metres of fine sand which is accessible by bike from the cycle lane. It´s a wide beach, quite clean and not too crowded. In the southern part of the beach, there is a small area for naturists, where a large dune was erected to protect the nudist community. Mar Bella beach bars and the nudist area welcome the gay Barcelona community, thus the dune allows for them to have a “private beach” of sorts. In the northern part of Mar Bella Beach, residents of the Poble Nou district, just behind the beach, are known to frequent. At the northern most point there is sports equipment such as a basketball hoop, ping pong table, and a skateboard halfpipe where some skaters meet in Barcelona. The beach is also a favourite spot for organised trips on sailing boats, kayaks and other crafts.
Nova Mar Bella Beach
Next to the Mar Bella Beach is the Nova Mar Bella, which is part of the coastline that was redeveloped after the urban renewal brought about by the 1992 Olympic Games. Curiously enough, more than 60% of the people who use this 500-metre stretch of beach are women who come here to enjoy the peace and quiet. Both day and night, the beachfront bars, or “chiringuitos,” provide a relaxed atmosphere with all the flavour of the summer. Nova Mar Bella Beach is home to high buildings, the Maritium Front and Diagonal Mar in Barcelona.
Parc del Fòrum Bathing Area

The Parc del Fòrum is a public park with its own bathing area (Zona de Baños del Parc Fòrum). It opened for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures in the district of Sant Martí and features many unique, landmark buildings. The park also introduced the concept of a sand-free beach and has an impressive children’s play area. It offers a wide range of sporting activities and water sports. Its certainly a convenient place to enjoy the sea while giving the impression that you are diving into a natural swimming pool. It's a different and original concept to enjoy the sea!!
Nova Icaria Beach
For families with children, groups of friends and for all, Nova Icaria Beach is one of Barcelona’s most peaceful beaches. Known for beach volleyball and beautiful people, Nova Icaria Beach´s 400 meters are one of the most visited and most touristic. Those of you who prefer to keep moving will find a wide range of seafront sporting facilities: ping pong, volleyball, play areas and more. One of the successes of Nova Icaria has been the placement of bicing stations next to the beach because anyone can easily get there to take a quick dip in the water. Also, the nearby Olympic Marina offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Fun is guaranteed
Llevant Beach
Originally set out as a provisional beach in summer 2007, Llevant soon became one of Barcelona’s most popular beaches. This beach is in the northernmost municipality of Barcelona and is located at the future construction site of Diagonal Mar beach. Llevant is like other beaches in Barcelona with its clear sand and relaxing atmosphere. Stretching for 380 metres, it was created after the Prim breakwater was removed. Today, the beach features the essential facilities which make it the perfect place for a pleasant day out enjoying the sun and sea. This beach is also the setting for one of the city’s most important sporting events: the Barcelona Triathlon.
If you'll are looking for a great holiday come to Barcelona and enjoy this fantastic beaches!. We want to recommend you choose to stay in a holiday apartment, close to these beaches, in order to enjoy every mintune and every moment of your holidays.
